If your heart is telling you that it is time to come closer to God, you do not have to wait until every question is answered or every part of life is together. Jesus meets us where we are.
A Relationship, Not A Performance
You are saying yes to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You are trusting that His death and resurrection make forgiveness and new life possible. You are choosing to turn toward Him and allow God to lead your life.
Talk to God in your own words.
You do not need a perfect script. Tell God you believe in Jesus, acknowledge your need for forgiveness, ask Him to lead your life, and commit yourself to following Christ.
Ward also offers an opportunity at the end of Sunday worship for individuals to publicly accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Baptism is a sacred Christian act connected to discipleship, faith, the life of the Church, and our commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Ward’s public ministry page grounds baptism in Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20.

Ward’s New Members Class is designed around what it means to be a Christian, what it means to be part of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and Ward AME Church, and stewardship to God and the Church. After completing the sessions, individuals are scheduled to be received into full church membership.
